如果是 SQL Server 2012 的 32 位元和 64 位元版本，則適用下列考量：
建議您在使用 NTFS 檔案格式的電腦上執行 SQL Server 2012。 雖然支援在使用 FAT32 檔案系統的電腦上安裝 SQL Server 2012，但並不建議這種作法，因為其安全性低於 NTFS 檔案系統。
SQL Server 安裝程式將會封鎖在唯讀、對應或是壓縮的磁碟機上進行的安裝。
若要確定 Visual Studio 元件可以正確安裝，SQL Server 需要安裝更新。 SQL Server 安裝程式會檢查此更新的狀態，然後需要您下載並安裝更新才能繼續安裝 SQL Server。 若要避免 SQL Server 安裝程式期間的中斷，您可以先下載並安裝更新，然後執行如下所述的 SQL Server 安裝程式 (或安裝 Windows Update 上可用 .NET 3.5 SP1 的所有更新)：
如果您在 Windows Vista SP2 或 Windows Server 2008 SP2 作業系統的電腦上安裝 SQL Server 2012，可以從此處取得所需的更新。
如果您在 Windows 7 SP1 或 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 或是 Windows Server 2012 或 Windows 8 作業系統的電腦上安裝 SQL Server 2012，系統已包含此更新。
如果您透過終端機服務用戶端啟動安裝程式，SQL Server 2012 的安裝會失敗。 不支援透過終端機服務用戶端啟動 SQL Server 安裝程式。

WOW64 支援：
WOW64 (Windows 64 位元上的 Windows 32 位元) 是 Windows 64 位元版本的一項功能，可讓 32 位元應用程式在 32 位元模式中以原生方式執行。 即使基礎作業系統是 64 位元的作業系統，應用程式仍可在 32 位元模式下運作。
在支援的 64 位元作業系統上，可以將 SQL Server 32 位元版安裝到 64 位元伺服器的 WOW64 32 位元子系統上。 只有 SQL Server 的獨立執行個體才支援 WOW64， SQL Server 容錯移轉叢集安裝則不支援 WOW64。

擴充系統支援
SQL Server 2012 64 位元版本包含擴充系統的支援，亦稱為 Windows 64 位元上的 Windows 32 位元 (WOW64)。 WOW64 是 Windows 64 位元版本的一項功能，可讓 32 位元應用程式在 32 位元模式中以原生方式執行。 即使基礎作業系統是 64 位元，應用程式仍可在 32 位元模式下運作。
磁碟空間需求 (32 位元和 64 位元)
安裝 SQL Server 2012 期間，Windows Installer 會在系統磁碟機上建立暫存檔。 在執行安裝程式來安裝或升級 SQL Server 之前，請確認系統磁碟機上至少有 6.0 GB 的可用磁碟空間可供這些檔案使用。 即使您將 SQL Server 元件安裝到非預設磁碟機，這項需求也適用。

注意SQL Server 容錯移轉叢集安裝只有在安裝 tempdb 檔時支援本機磁碟。 務必確定在所有叢集節點上為 tempdb 資料和記錄檔指定的路徑都是有效的。 在容錯移轉期間，如果容錯移轉目標節點上的 tempdb 目錄無法使用，則 SQL Server 資源將無法上線。
在網域控制站上安裝 SQL Server
基於安全性理由，不建議您在網域控制站上安裝 SQL Server 2012。 SQL Server 安裝程式將不會封鎖當做網域控制站之電腦上的安裝，但適用以下限制：
您無法以本機服務帳戶在網域控制站上執行 SQL Server 服務。
當 SQL Server 安裝到電腦上以後，您無法將電腦從網域成員變成網域控制站。 在您將主機電腦變更為網域控制站之前，必須先解除安裝 SQL Server。
