BizTalk Server Integration Features
The International Retail site and accompanying retail2002B2B service demonstrate connecting Commerce Server 2002 sites through BizTalk Server.
The Biztalk Server integration feature consists of a set of adaptors that enable Commerce Server 2002 to exchange catalogs, purchase orders, and purchase order update messages with trading partners using Microsoft BizTalk® Server.
Microsoft BizTalk Server provides a gateway for sending business documents between your company and your trading partners. BizTalk Server manages the data translation, encryption, digital signatures, and document tracking services for many different transport mechanisms.
You can use BizTalk Server and Commerce Server together to process orders that users place on your Commerce Server Web site. For specific information about BizTalk Server integration with Commerce Server 2002, see About the BizTalk Server Integration Feature.
This feature is a technology demonstration intended for developers and is not intended for a production environment.
For detailed installation instructions, see the file <%systemdrive%>\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce Server 2002\SDK\Samples\ASPNET\Retail2002\Retail2002_BizTalk Deployment.doc. This file is also available in the <%systemdrive%>\Inetpub\wwwroot\Retail2002B2B folder after the site has been unpacked.
The International Retail Site provides the following BizTalk Server adapters:
- Catalog Adapter. Describes the catalog adaptor and how it works.
- Order Adapter. Describes the order adaptor and how it works.
- Order Status Adapter. Describes the order status adaptor and how it works.
